Polyurethane resins are used for potting, encapsulation, impregnation and insulation of devices such as transformers, relays, motors, magnet boards, air bobbins, PCBs etc.
The benefit of moulding components is to achieve a better heat deflection plus protection against moisture. At the same time, polyurethane potting compounds are so flexible that by moulding print boards, you can avoid breaking already mounted components.
The main advantage of polyurethane systems compared to silicone and epoxy is the fast hardening at room temperature.
